“Onalani” means heavenly place in Hawaiian.

In ancient times the grounds of Onalani were a gathering place for good ceremony, rituals, healing and celebration. Sacred hula was performed to honor the canoes which paddled out from the shore and to invoke communion with the gods and goddesses. Kahuna priests held rituals for blessing the fishing fleets, naming children and increasing abundance for all.
